Worth Manifesto is a charitable project based in Pittsburgh PA, USA, currently working toward obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
Our mission is to restore the dignity of marginalized women, in precarious or homeless conditions.
Through acts of kindness and words of encouragement, we want to remind them of their self worth and encourage their lives to a correct self perception.
We do this by collecting unwanted makeup bags, makeup, toiletries, and handwritten personal encouraging notes.
The bags are filled with these items and distributed among women in the following conditions:
homeless women in the street.
migrants women in transit at the American border.
If you want to learn how to participate, partner with us for delivery, send donations, or learn about our whereabouts, we invite you to subscribe to our letters, which are sent occasionally when we have good news.
“We don't need to be rich in order to help others, all we need is to be generous and share what we have with those who have none.”
Our generosity can manifest in different ways; maybe is time, connections, money, items or resources.
The goal of Worth Manifesto is to show normal people that they can help, and to show marginalized women that they are worthy to live a different life, worthy to dream with a future, worthy to look their best, worthy to have a career, worthy to overcome their pain, worthy be clean, and specially, worth fighting for.
Maybe this little present will be the encouragement they need to believe in themselves.
“Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back”
How to help
Have an Ipsy subscription and don’t know what to do with the bags? Send ‘em to us! We’ll take them!
We want each one of our bags to have different, intentional handwritten note. The power of a letter can be exactly what someone needs to be cheered up.
We need your donations! Save any travel-size toiletries, the free toothbrushes your dentist gives you, or the ipsy makeup samples you don’t like.
We depend on you!
We are hoping to obtain a 503c Status by the end of the year. The cost of setting everything up is close to $2k. If you can spare the cost of a coffee with us, it will help us to get closer to this goal. The tax exemption, will allow us to obtain grants and further our mission.
